“ To say "Hampstead Academy" is to say "academia." I could never ask for a greater learning environment; each teacher offers a unique, individual approach to their material, and classes are relatively small, encouraging discussion and participation from everyone. This is a society where children learn from peers, teachers, and themselves. ”

Testimonials

The Parents

“We are fortunate to have begun Daniela’s education in your Nursery program six years ago. As she now enters fourth grade, it is amazing to see how much she has blossomed into a confident and self-assured child who eagerly awaits the next day of school.

Male students posing for theater picture inside car Hampstead Academy is a truly unique school, which provides a genuine partnership between parent and teacher. The phenomenal teaching staff is nurturing, caring and extremely involved with each child. The small classroom size makes it possible for your child to receive the individual attention they need to thrive. Academically, the learning environment has been both challenging without being overwhelming. Our school’s focus on the ‘whole child’ does build self-esteem and confidence in each child while feeding their hunger for learning.

Socially, Daniela enjoys being with her classmates as they have all learned the value of respecting each other as individuals. Her class is a cohesive group who share a very strong bond.”

“Leo and I want to thank you, the Upper School teachers, Mrs. Kutzelman and the staff at Hampstead Academy for the wonderful work that you all do. We are so impressed with the excellence and commitment that you bring to your work at HA. Daniel adjusted nicely to a new school, he has learned well, he enjoys all of his teachers, and he has explored some new interests and discovered new passions.

It is so special to watch your child grow and learn and come into himself in a nurturing environment. I remember one morning in October, driving Daniel to school and thinking, This is how I have wanted to feel as a parent. I felt happy to be bringing Daniel to a school where he would have intelligent and talented people working with him in a community that would appreciate him.

Hampstead Academy math counts competition participants Hampstead Academy does everything well! The academic reports that we received were thoughtful and detailed. The recommendations were helpful. Whenever I had a question, it was easy to reach a teacher. Jane and Julie were always interested in helping me. I felt like I was included in my child's learning… thank you.”

“Every course at Hampstead is taught with the same level of excellence, enthusiasm, and enriched content. Whether it is Chinese, Art Studio, Math, Spanish, Latin, P.E., Science, Drama, Music, Social Studies, or Language Arts, the students and teachers are engaged and thoughtful. The facilities; student-teacher ratio; and preK-8 configuration are ideal for a learning environment. Teachers are willing to adjust their curriculum to meet the needs of advanced students. Our family is thrilled with Hampstead and happily commute from the Seacoast area.”

“Our son and daughter started at Hampstead Academy three years ago. We were looking for a well rounded curriculum that would take individual needs into account; foster growth and development through academic success as well as provide a wide range of special area classroom opportunities. Having a small classroom environment is such a important criteria for enabling the teachers to give individual instruction and encouragement on such a consistent basis. The staff consistently keeps us informed of our children's progress. They challenge them academically and teach them important social skills that will be essential to their future success. You can't even compare the curriculum and classes offered from their other school. Their test scores have increased yet they have more opportunities in music, drama, art, foreign language and physical education. My children know everyone in their grade and have to consistently learn to work with many different personalities on a variety of tasks and subjects. My only regret is that I did not start them at Hampstead Academy from the very beginning of their education.”
- Peter and Lisa Begley, Parents - Grades 8 and Alumnus 2009

“We were introduced to Hampstead Academy three years ago because our son just needed something a little more challenging. Wow... not only did we find that, but we found a loving, caring, nurturing environment full of teachers and administrators who cared about him as a person, not just as a student. We are thrilled to say that he loves Hampstead Academy and all that it offers. We felt that the Hampstead environment was so special that my oldest daughter joined the school half way into sixth grade, and our youngest can't wait to join her siblings this fall. Academics, Drama, Music, Art, Sports, Dances, Fieldtrips, Summer Programs and very special friendships. My children have soaked it all up and are better for their time at Hampstead. We feel lucky to have found you. Thank you!”

The Alumni

I had mixed emotions leaving Hampstead Academy's protective surroundings and my friends of many years

“Thank you for creating Hampstead Academy. The school has prepared me for high school and beyond and has provided me with countless memorable experiences. Hampstead Academy has given my brother and me more than an education but a love of learning.”
- Emily Brewer, Alumna 2007

“My time as a student at Hampstead Academy has left me with many memorable experiences. The lessons I have learned throughout the years are numerous.

I remember clearly my first day of second grade. I was a nervous wreck and had no idea what my new school would be like. As I walked into my classroom, all my fears dissipated and I was left standing there in awe and wonder. There were cubbies for everyone, and crayons galore and books crammed into bookshelves everywhere! In the corner of the room, just waiting for me to climb up, was a reading loft complete with two puffy beanbags. This was truly my heaven.

Hampstead Academy students Skipping ahead to fifth grade… this was the first year I had a separate Language Arts teacher. I had grown to love reading and writing and couldn’t wait to do more. I remember that L.A. was not an easy subject. This became clear to me when my book report was returned and, for the first time, I received an 80%. I was heartbroken and figured that it was the end of my writing. My teacher did not think the same way I did. She told me to think of it as a lesson, teaching me to work that extra 10% to achieve my goals. If I put in 110% of my effort, I should be happy because I did everything to the best of my abilities.”
- Jessica Goudreault, Alumna 2007

“Hampstead Academy was an exciting and enjoyable learning experience that helped prepare me for the even greater academic challenges of Philips Exeter. During my years there I formed close friendships with other students that continue to be a part of my everyday life.”
- Rosa Hayes, Alumna 2005

“Lessons taught here are more than those in textbooks — they are the lessons that will carry any and every willing student through a long and prosperous life.”
- Aaron Suduiko, Alumnus 2009

“At Hampstead Academy you get life lessons. You learn not only math and science, but also about development and being mature about things. The classes are great.”
- John DiMicelli, Alumnus 2009
