Technology at Hampstead Academy

Technology Vision

The use of technology at Hampstead Academy serves to further the facilitation of the school's Vision. At the core of this Vision are the unyielding expectations that Hampstead Academy seeks to develop students who demonstrate self-confidence and independence, an enthusiasm for life-long learning, a sense of purpose, a commitment to service and respect to others, and an awareness that we live in a global community of diverse cultures and perspectives. With an appropriate and effective technology integration program implemented, these endeavors are readily supported as our teachers' "creative spirits" are enhanced through the extended reach that technology provides to further empower students to become more inquisitive and eager to develop their individual potential.

For educators at Hampstead Academy, technology in the classroom serves the purpose of enhancing a progressive curriculum and supports the individual teaching style of the teacher. Integrated technology provides learning venues and accentuates learning environments that otherwise would not have been attainable through conventional methods and channels. Technology allows teachers to more effectively assess students understanding of critical concepts and enables the teacher to better deliver on our commitment to support individual programming. In essence, further personalizing education and meeting the needs of the whole child.

For students at Hampstead Academy, technology is used to open doors to experiences, concepts, and relationships that otherwise would be impossible, or impractical. This allows our educators to nurture each student's unique strengths and create meaningful, engaged learning. In some cases technology serves to "level the playing field" for students whose learning styles may be better served by computer assisted applications and techniques to realize their true potential and aptitude. Through classroom simulations, global outreach, and other powerful interactive experiences, students explore their creative powers and truly recognize the importance of a global community and emerging technologies that exist. Technology also allows the student to create and display a collection of personal and team works that best illuminate the efforts and character of the student.

For parents of Hampstead Academy students, technology serves the purpose of improving communications, the creation of more opportunities to participate with their child in the process of education, a greater dialogue between home and school, and more transparency into the student school life.
